Strategic Records Management Review for the UK Consumer Finance Division of a Major US Bank

Our customer is one of the UK’s leading online banks and part of a large US banking group. They are one of the world’s largest online banks with over 3 million customers.

Business challenge

The objective was to provide the bank with the information needed to ensure that they fully understood the challenges and status of their records management programme. This required a complete assessment of the risks across all related areas and an assessment of how the bank was addressing them.

Solution

The scope of the strategic records management review covered practices for physical and electronic records throughout their lifecycle, from planning and creation, through active use, archive storage and ultimate disposal, testing current status to recommended good practice.

BEP carried out a detailed assessment against the key processes. The output report focuses on 39 records and information specific topic areas and includes objectives, current status and remedial actions (where required) for each. The report includes a comprehensive plan of action that encompasses and builds upon current activity, and includes actions to be put in place to bring the bank fully in line with all legislation and best practice guidelines.
